What it’s about: A young orphaned boy dreams of being abducted by aliens after not feeling at home on Earth. He gets his wish.

The kid attractor factor: The animation style, the childhood themes, and heartwarming story about extraterrestrial friendship.

Good lessons/bad lessons: Sometimes, what you are searching for is right in front of you.

Violence: Some perilous situations, fisticuffs and bullying with kids.

'28 YEARS LATER'

 

Rated R for strong bloody violence, grisly images, graphic nudity, language and brief sexuality.

What it’s about: 28 years after the rage virus swept the U.K., a small island village maintains a safe lifestyle, with infrequent visits to the mainland. A young boy starts to get curious about what's happening on the big island.

The kid attractor factor: This is a horror movie with gore, danger and violence. Not much appeal for kids but maybe teens.

Good lessons/bad lessons: In a world filled with death, cherish life.

Violence: Extreme bloody violence, bows and arrows, shooting with guns, dismemberment, etc.

Language: Some swearing.

Sex: Graphic zombie nudity throughout and a sex scene.

Drugs: None

Parents’ advisory: Extremely dark and violent — OK for teens but not for kids.
